Supporting Jefferson County DHR
Jefferson County DHR was selected for our Christmas Blessings Program this year. Funds were raised through our Battle for Bragging Rights competition and a silent auction. For Battle for Bragging Rights, Legacy employees donated $10 in the name of their team and members made donations as well. Together, around $750 was donated for Battle for Bragging Rights. Legacy Credit Union put on a silent auction at their Employee Christmas Party. Vendors and local companies donated over 60 items for the auction. We were able to raise nearly $2,500 for the Christmas Blessings Program. Through this, we were able to completely fulfill the Christmas wish lists of four children in Jefferson County. Additionally, we were able to assist a local family who was struggling financially with purchasing Christmas gifts for their four children.
Supporting The Circle of Love Foundation
This year was the 20th Annual Toy Drive that Legacy Credit Union hosted. The Foundation selected The Circle of Love Foundation as this year’s beneficiary of the toy drive. Collection boxes were placed at all 10 Legacy locations and nearly 1,000 toys were collected! The Circle of Love’s mission was to provide Christmas to children at seven different shelters throughout the Greater Birmingham Area. We were thrilled to support them in their goal of providing Christmas to 700 children this year!
Supporting UAB’s Women and Infant’s Center
The Legacy for Good Foundation partnered with Legacy CFCU for the second annual Books for Babies Drive. Members and employees collected new books to be donated to the NICU at UAB’s Women and Infant’s Center. The books will be used to support the NICU Bookworms program. The program gives each family a children’s board book to read to their child while in the NICU. Reading to preterm infants has been shown to have many health benefits. Families will be able to take their book home once discharged from the NICU. This year, we surpassed our goal of 150 books!
Supporting Birmingham City Schools
We partnered with Legacy Credit Union in the month of July for a School Supply Drive benefiting Birmingham City Schools! Collection boxes were placed at all Legacy locations. Legacy Credit Union employees and members came together to collect over 1500 school supplies to donate. We are honored to support the teachers and children of our city!
Supporting Children’s of Alabama
The Legacy for Good Foundation partnered with Legacy Community Federal Credit Union for the 10th Annual Legacy for Children’s Casual for a Cause Day. Legacy Credit Union employees purchased t-shirt and went casual in support of Children’s of Alabama. Additionally, Legacy members and the community were able to purchase t-shirts at Legacy branches. Over $3,800 was raised to donate to Children’s of Alabama.
Support Royal Family Kids Camp
The Foundation was honored to support Royal Family Kids Camp #218. Royal Family Kids Camp’s goal is to provide life giving activities to children who have suffered abuse. The 5-day camp focuses on fostering resiliency, hope, self-esteem, and positive memories.
Supporting The Arc of Central Alabama
The Arc of Central Alabama was selected as the beneficiary of the 3rd Annual Golf for Good Tournament. Over 60 golfers came out to support this wonderful organization. Additionally, numerous companies sponsored the event to make it a success. The Foundation was pleased to donate $4,000 to The Arc of Central Alabama to aid in their mission to serve those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Supporting The Ronald McDonald House
The Legacy for Good Foundation partnered with Legacy CFCU for the second year in a row for a household supply drive. A variety of household supplies were collected from Legacy Credit Union members and employees. The Foundation was happy to donate 12 boxes packed full with supplies for the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House of Birmingham .
